The Peasant Blouse
Posted by grandmajudyscreations @ 10:09 am

The peasant blouse is usually made of white cotton, but can be made of any material you choose.
The neckline is adjustable with the use of draw strings. Some like to wear the top pulled tight, just showing the neck, others prefer to wear it loose and pulled down around the shoulder.
The nice thing is that the same blouse can be worn either way.
Sleeves are a matter of choice, short, long, or mid way, they can be full and puffy, sculpted, bell shaped, or have a long drape that hangs from the cuff.
All of my peasant blouses are made to be adjustable so the same blouse can be worn by a large busted gal, or small.
Peasant blouses go well with a skirt for a wench costume, a corset and a skort ( combination skirt and shorts ) as a pirate outfit, or under an overdress as a princess.

Lady’s Renaissance Corset
Posted by grandmajudyscreations @ 11:15 am

The renaissance corset is made from a sturdy material, such as canvas, burlap, leather, or an upholstery material with, or without a pattern.
The corset has boning at areas where there is stress, this includes the front and any side openings where laces are used to tighten the corset. In the renaissance period whale bone was used for this, today we use a mad-made material that is just as strong and does not endanger any wildlife.
My corsets are made to be adjustable. In the front there are three areas where the laces can be adjusted in and out, up to 2 inches at each area, this gives an adjustment allowance of 6 inches, in or out.  In the plus size corsets I also add two additional adjustment areas at the side. The shoulder is adjustable for people who are a bit longer in the torso than others.
The corset is a very versatile garment that can be worn with many different outfits, peasant skirt, jeans, business suit, pirate outfit or even shorts.
Material is almost unlimited as to pattern or texture.

The sample shown is made of a plush, deep rose, textured upholstery material, lined with tan denim.
All of my corsets are reversible to a contrasting solid color.

Just a little history of our Renaissance Faires.
Posted by grandmajudyscreations @ 10:33 am

The first Renaissance Faire was held in 1963, becoming the Renaissance Pleasure Faire at Agoura, California; Novato’s Black Point RPFN followed a few years later. Since then the love of history, fantasy, costuming, and ale has inspired many more Faires across the United States, and Canada. Some are Renaissance era, some Medieval, but all have a home for Pirates, Wenches, Buccaneers, Monks, Kings, Queens, Jesters and You.
